First Home Buyers Grant
Buying your first home can sometimes feel a little overwhelming but can also be a wonderful and enjoyable experience. We all want to make the most of our first home purchase, the Great Start Grant can be a great way to start. When it comes to buying your first home, knowing what government assistance is available can make all the difference.
You work hard to save that all-important deposit, look at properties, and then count down the days until you can move into your very own place. However, your ‘great Australian dream’ could actually happen sooner than you think.
The QLD Government recently increased the Great Start Grant (previously known as the First Home Owner Construction Grant) to $20,000 and is available to people buying or building a new home up to the value of $750,000. All of the grant applicants must live in the home continuously for at least six months.
For more information visit the Great Start Grant website or contact Matt Gnech at SB Lending. It may also be possible to reduce the amount of duty on a first home, either through the first home concession or the first home vacant land concession.
